Hello, Faithful Prayer Team!
in case you've wondered if you've missed anything -- you haven't. this is my FIRST email to you. i haven't needed any extra prayer until now. the money came in very easily (praise God for His provision - through people just like yourself) and now it is time to get down to the real business of preparation.
Here are my most concerning requests:
1. that i would be able to put together my "testimony" - in various forms (for kids to understand, 5 minutes, adults, a longer one, through a translator, etc). i have been avoiding sitting down to write this out. i'm concerned b/c i don't enjoy speaking in front of crowds and i've actually never had to give my testimony. i'm really not sure what angle to take - do i try to tell my whole story or just capture a certain aspect. please pray that the Lord leads me in what He wants me to share and that i have the discipline to sit down and write it out. i know there's good stuff in me and God has been gracious to me over the course of my life. i want to share it. thanks.
2. that i would embrace the opportunity to give a worship seminar while i'm there. there are several possibilities they've asked me about -- a multi-day after school class for teens, a 3 hour training day w/adults (probalby men). i dont' know what they need to learn, what to prepare, what materials to use, and what confidence i have to teach in this situation. but, i usually rise to the occassion when given the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge when it comes to music and worship, God help me remember that and give me confidence (in you!). thanks.
3. for my health and adjustments for my body to the travel schedule, lack of sleep, and demands on my digestive system. these are concerns for me from time to time and magnify them by 100x for this trip. i know God can take care of this and i need Him to. thanks.
that's all for tonight. if i've put you on the list by accident, please let me know. otherwise, expect more updates and prayer needs to come your way! we leave on sunday morning, Oct 14, returning Oct 29.
blessings to you, my friends - and Boa Noite! (Portugese for good night)
love, africa jen
